Tired of commuting to London for my daily culture-fix, it was wonderful to drive only as far as Oxford last week for the opening of the 2008 Oxford Lieder Festival, www.oxfordlieder.co.uk. This is the brainchild and labour of love of Sholto Kynoch, a charismatic song accompanist and chamber musician (the pianist of the new Phoenix Piano Trio, who will be performing the Beethoven trios in 2010). Interestingly, for me at any rate, the opening recital of songs from Des Knaben Wunderhorn was given at the Jacqueline du Pré Music Building of the formerly all-female St Hilda’s College.

Hello,
Just so you know, everytime I tried to click through Artsjournal to get to this blog entry, I got a report saying that it doesn’t exist. I looked for a minute, and found the source of the problem. at the end of your url (the .html) there was no “l” on html. Once I added that in on my browser, I got to it right away. Maybe you could repost this with a fix, so more people can read?

Thanks very much for this. Yes, I noticed that the terminal “l” was missing from the suffix. I imagine it was my own technical fault, but I’m still not clear what I did wrong. I’ll pay especial attention when I next post. I’m very flattered that you noticed, and I’ll repost, as you advise.
