Alejandro Diaz knows how to refry a stereotype. He conflates art-world cliches with cultural stupidities and prices everything-to-go on beggar boards resting for pickup on a Mexican blanket.
Every 30 years or so, a sidewalk sale hits the spot. (David Hammons. Note the blanket. Image via)

I do love the blanket and if the scene were a natural occurance, then I would love it even more.
Following your David Hammons link, I came across that little quotation from Francesco Bonami. It really spoke to me, more so as an artist than as a person. Sometimes it is possible to feel like the little larvae injected into the larger insect by a procreating fly. Now, if only I could learn to chew and digest.
