The fluidity in Warren Dykeman‘s paintings does not come from his figures. They are stationary; the footwork belongs to the field. His paintings are about breath. Till Jan. 2 at Grey Gallery & Lounge. Although the show opened Nov. 12, it is not yet on the Web site. What managed to make its way online is Kristen Ramirez’s Ghost of Commerce Past, also on view. Review to follow.
Grey Gallery is a leader in Seattle of what could be called
recessionary pricing. In each show, there are suites of small paintings
or sculptures priced at less than $200, sometimes a lot less. It
wouldn’t be worth mentioning were it not for the artists involved,
almost always stellar.
