Regina, I can only assume you havent heard about the Bill Fitzgibbons versus McAllen story- otherwise your nose for news, as well as art world soap opera, would have perked up- http://www.sacurrent.com/news/story.asp?id=69955
Also, I would be remiss in my husbandly duties not to point out the similarity to a project my lovely wife created way back in 1997, Light Overhead, which has similarities to Fitzgibbons project, although it has the added feature of sculptural objects, light, and painted finishes interacting. So it still looks good when you dont pay the electric bill. http://www.sheilaklein.com/pages/lightovrhd_picts.htm
Hi Ries. I did hear about it (vaguely) and yes, I noticed that it’s similar to Sheila’s. With its street lights, however, it fits into my series. I suppose running it is horribly insensitive to somebody, but isn’t it lovely? R
Oh, I could care less about “insensitive”.
I am all in favor of you running more variations on the theme, rather than fewer.
