My relaunch continues. I’ve got a new…well, a new home page. It’s the beginning of a new website. I’ll construct the site incrementally. Or (as I wrote on the page) by surprise. It’ll take me awhile (of course). But I’ll build it, I hope, in the rhythm of other parts of my relaunch.
Want to help? I think of this as an interim site. Would anyone want to redesign it? Send me ideas! One thought I had — if anyone cares to design a new home page for me, I can put it online, just for the fun of it. I could even use several, each for a while, to see what we think of them. Even if they should be just a bit crazy.
I’m smiling. This could be fun.
ADDED LATER: I hope I didn’t seem to say that I expected anyone to redesign my website without being paid! If a designer and I had a true meeting of minds and hearts, and we were going to redo the entire site, then of course we’d make a normal business arrangement, and I’d pay the designer’s fee.
What I had in mind was simpler. Often I’ve had people volunteer to help me in my work. So, if in that spirit, a designer wanted to create even a sketchy version of a working home page for me, I’d be happy to put it online. So that I and others could play with it. And to promote the designer’s work.
In that spirit, I’d post even a sketch, a rough wireframe, of a new home page. I’d put it both here in my blog, and on the website. But never, never, never would I expect to have a site made for me unless I paid for it.

I am looking forward to the book, as it evolves.

It’s good to have you back, Greg. The days leading up to Labor Day were certainly long ones.
