The editors of the London Review of Books say their first edition of The Beast of Brexit, the late Heathcote Williams’s takedown of Boris Johnson, sold out “in a matter of weeks” just before the Brexit referendum in 2016. After it went through several reprints, the book was published in a second edition “with a new introduction and an essay by Francis Wyndham in praise of Williams (taken from the review’s first issue, in 1979). Now with Johnson elected Prime Minister it has gone back to print again. “It was a no-brainer,” the editors say. “The lies that fuelled his rise just keep on coming. The moment for The Beast has never been riper.”
