here’s my attempt at images for oil transfer. wrote it on the full page ad in NYT, as you can see.
Yoko Ono takes out the ad each year on the anniversary of John Lennon’s birthday. first wrote it with the carbon paper layered underneath the paper i wrote on. didn’t work. so i then wrote it directly on the newsprint page. btw, i tried using the large flat pencil so as to vary the line width, as you suggested. but i couldn’t manage the various widths and in the process broke that pencil. therefore, i switched to using the pencil that worked best for me at the moment. your assistant in crime, Jan Herman
That was my message to Gerard Bellaart, the publisher/editor of Cold Turkey Press, who instigated the crime. He suggested methods, provided pencils, and printed a limited edition of posters (320×213 mm.) on Hodginson’s demy wove, a vintage paper.
