If you think my staff of thousands doesn’t appreciate that, you don’t know how hungry they are to promote my new book. In this age of shameless self-promotion, it’s all about me, me, me. So I made a deal with them. One click gets them a penny, five gets them a dime. Make them rich. Click for the full interview.

The attention is much deserved. It’s a beautifully written book with many insights about the literary lights of the mid 20th century. In the summer I live in Taos, NM, an artists’ colony full of writers. I loaned my copy of Z to one of them and by the time I got it back it looked like it had been carried back and forth across the Great Plains about 5 times by a pack of gophers. Apparently she couldn’t resist loaning it to another writer who did the same and so on. I’m sure it was thoroughly burrowed, and not just the stuff about Burroughs. Glad I got it back, even if worse for the wear.
So do I get a nickel for letting them read my copy?

Haw! That is funny. And I thank you. My accountant says she will write you a check, unless you prefer Bitcoins.

Meanwhile in a digital dungeon someplace the staff of thousands are like “What the fuck? We do all the work and this guy sucks down all the glory? Fuck his pennies and dimes. We want champagne and courtesans for chrissakes.”

I just finished reading your excellent bio of William Wyler. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and, what’s more, I learned a great deal from it. Too many films that we regard as classics were only mildly successful on release.
