Video recorded on April 29, 2011 at the Society of Illustrators in New York City, where the R. Crumb: Lines Drawn on Paper retrospective ran from March 23 to April 30. The show presented key pieces culled from the underground art collection of Eric Sack, with contributions from Paul Morris and John Lautemann. It was curated by Monte Beauchamp, editor of The Life and Times of R. Crumb. The soundtrack I laid on this video is from Satie’s “Nocturnes,” played by Aldo Ciccolini. Here’s the first video from the retrospective.

Satie & Crumb — together at last! Definitely in the Who Knew category. Nice piece, Jan. Just what I needed to break up today’s gig doing corrections on the index of a legal dictionary. Thanks.
