NewMusicBox, the web publication where I have worked since 2001 (with time off in 2003 for good behavior and a quick jaunt to Nepal) turned 10 years old this morning! I made a little highlight reel in honor of the festivities, but there’s lots more celebratory content on the site today.

I really enjoyed the AMC members meeting last night (this video was on a loop in one part of the museum, right?). I know those events don’t just “happen” and that you and all of the AMC staff put a lot of work into making that a meaningful and enjoyable evening – so as a composer and AMC member I say “thanks.”
And I’m glad Joanne acknowledged the AMC staff.

Though I’ve been working those events for years, I still get a real charge out of that yearly shot of just having a drink and snack with that many composers and friends in celebration of what we’re all about. It’s a nice moment of concrete, real-world contact with the work I do every day.
