About Eduardo Vilaro
Eduardo Vilaro is a faculty member of the Salzburg Global Forum for You Cultural Leaders. He joined Ballet Hispanico as its artistic director in 2009 after a ten-year record of achievement as founder and artistic director of Luna Negra Dance Theater in Chicago. He is dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of the rich diversity within Latino cultures through dance. He is an accomplished choreographer and has worked in collaboration with major dance and design artists, as well as musicians like Paquito D'Rivera and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. As a former principal dancer with Ballet Hispanico, he has performed throughout the United States, Europe, Central and South America. He is a master teacher and is passionate about arts education and outreach for underserved youth. Mr. Vilaro received a B.F.A. in dance from Adelphi University and an M.A. in interdisciplinary art from Columbia College, Chicago.
