About Deirdre Prins-Solani
Deirdre Prins-Solani is a faculty member of the Salzburg Global Forum for You Cultural Leaders and an independent heritage and cultural expert. Until recently, she was the executive director of the Centre for Heritage Development in Africa (CHDA) in Kenya, the past president of the International Council of African Museums (AFRICOM), as well as past president of the South African Museum Association. Before joining CHDA, she was the senior manager at Robben Island Museum, responsible for education and the public programs. Ms. Prins-Solani's special research interests are in the fields of literacy and identity, exclusion and stigma and heritage and sustainable development. Ms. Prins-Solani received a B.A., a higher diploma of education, of adult education, as well as a post graduate diploma in organization and business management, all from the University of Cape Town.
