Way back in June 2008, I posted an ‘open-source public service announcement‘ concept and media mock-up called ”Art. It’s what’s inside.” Since I didn’t have the means or the channel to produce a professional version of the message I had in mind, I figured I’d release it to the world to see what life it might have out there.
These many years later, the Manitoba Arts Council has taken the phrase and run with it. Their new promotional video grabs the main tagline and many of the themes and assembles them in a beautifully conceived and produced end result. They graciously asked my permission to use the concept (they didn’t have to, I had attached a Creative Commons license to provide such permission in advance). And they also graciously include a credit to my blog at the end.
The result is worth a watch for the way it captures the many qualities and impacts arts bring to communities. Congratulations to the MAC. And glad the initial idea found a fully realized voice.
[For any others who care to use the idea, or build on it, it’s still in play. Feel free to steal with my prior permission.]
