THIS CONVERSATION
by Douglas McLennanThis group blog is built around a new book Engaging Art: The Next Great Transformation of America's Cultural Life examining the changing relationships between audiences and America's arts organizations. This blog is a lead-up to...
a live three-hour plenary session discussion at the American Symphony Orchestra League conference in Nashville, Thursday June 21 from 2-5. Some 600 delegates to the League's conference will be in attendance. Several of the book's authors will be presenting their findings, and in the spirit of the kinds of changes they chronicle, we're going to try to make the session as interactive as possible.
We will be live-blogging the session here on ArtsJournal. But we're also hoping to go further than that. Hundreds of the orchestra delegates in attendance will be bringing their laptops to the session. As the presenters speak, the audience will submit comments and questions. They will go up live to this website, and the most pertinent of them will be shown on giant screens around the room.
You here on line are also invited to submit questions or comments during the session, and some of them will be used in the room in Nashville. Watch this space June 21 to see how to submit your comments/questions.
