ARTS JOURNAL MECHANICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Banner Ads
Dimensions and Types

Both .gif and .jpg formats are accepted for banner ads, as are animated .gif's. All must conform to the mechanical specifications.

Large Banner Ads

420x60 pixels, k maximum preferred, 3.5 k for faster delivery, though all sizes accepted.

Half Size Banner Ads
210x60 pixels, k maximum preferred, 3.5 k for faster delivery, though all sizes accepted.

Small Button Ads

115x60 pixels 3k maximum preferred, 1.5 k for faster delivery, though all sizes accepted.

Animated Banners

Arts Journal will interlace all GIF's unless you indicate your banner contains animation. Delivery: Send banner image in GIF format (companyname.gif) to
McLennan@artsjournal.com by attaching it to an Email or by sending it on a 3.5" floppy disk.

NOTE: In the text of your Email (not the attachment) or on the disk label, please write out the URL/web address to which your Arts Journal ad should be linked.
All materials or instructions should be submitted at least one week prior to the beginning of your advertising schedule. Mid-flight changes to content should be received at least five business days ahead of the time the changes are to begin.


RATES AND PACKAGES AVAILABLE FOR ARTS JOURNAL
Arts Journal offers two packages of banner ad placements. Rates are stated as CPM (Cost per thousand). $20 CPM means $20 per 1,000 impressions. Flight-time is typically sold in blocks of 10,000 impressions, with a guaranteed minimum flight-time of two weeks.

Main Page Placement

Button placement along the left and right side borders of Arts Journal’s Main news page. Banner placement across the news section. This is the site’s most heavily-trafficked page.

PAYMENT AND CONDITIONS
All advertising and sponsorship billings direct to advertiser are at published rates unless arranged otherwise in advance.

Invoices must be paid within 30 days. Past due invoices are subject to a 1.5% service charge per month.

Delinquent accounts may be restricted from further advertising until accounts are paid in full. Arts Journal reserves the right to require full payment in advance.

All reservations must be made by Arts Journals’ Letter of Agreement or by a signed insertion order.

For advertisers under multiple-impression block agreements, previous ads will be repeated if new artwork is not received by the agreed to deadline.

Arts Journal reserves the right to refuse any advertising. Advertisers and advertising agencies are responsible for the content of all advertisements and for any resulting claims made against Arts Journal representatives.
